Digital Kalighat Painting
This lockdown has gulped all over the world. It's hard to get out for a fresh breathe in this season of COVID-19. All are suggested to stay home. So no work & no income. Spending from the savings is the only constant. It's hard not to be feared of getting sagged by the company. Moreover, the cyclone terrified the entire Bengal leaving it torn apart. It's hard to stay calm in this fearful situation.
Being the only breadwinner of the old parents, she is facing a lot of anxiety about keeping things together. So she called her dream peddler and asked for some weed, rolled it, and smoked it letting the end of her blue saree wave in the storm while sitting in that little balcony in her beloved city of joy. She smoked until her eyes turned red and she felt far away from all this stress and starts dreaming while the sun goes down and the sky turns starry with new hopes!
This is a digital painting based on Bengal's folk art called Patachitra or more specifically Kalighat Paintings depicting a psychedelic adventure of a lady in her balcony.
This architectural style of doors and balconies are especially found in North Calcutta and this really gives off a Bengal vibe.
